Notation Rules

1. The unit

The base unit is the Elon. E = 1012. Every Muskonometry expression evaluates to a real number of Elons.

2. Symbol alphabet

3. Classical reading

Symbols are added left-to-right. There is no subtractive rule.

4. Multiplier

N𝕏SYM denotes N copies of SYM. Coefficients may be decimal or negative.

5. Decimal coefficients

A symbol may be prefixed by a decimal coefficient, e.g. 2.7E.

6. SI prefixes

SI letters X, C, M, G, T, P attach only to E and scale the Elon by 10, 100, 10³, 10⁶, 10⁹, 10¹² respectively.

7. Mixed expressions

Terms joined by + are summed. Whitespace is insignificant.

8. Canonical form

Every value has a unique compressed form: the largest fitting symbol with a decimal coefficient less than 10.
